TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Thank you for choosing DMRS Tech to repair your electronic device(s). Please review the following terms and conditions below.

-= COVID-19 Procedure =-
For the safety of those that are immunocompromised strict policies and procedures are in place. If you are ill or have been in the presence of others that are ill, please schedule your drop off / pick up times for a later date to prevent the spread of airbourne and contractual ailments.

-= Hours of operation =-
As DMRS Tech is a home based business, planned arrangements for dropping off / picking up is mandatory.

DMRS Tech operates from Monday - Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.
Phone calls, text messages, e-mails will be returned only during regular repair shop hours.

Closed on Statutory Holidays: Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day

-= Drop off / Pick up Procedure =-
For contact-less or in person drop off / pick up please contact me to arrange a date / time to do so. For contact-less dropping off / picking up of your device, there is a secured wooden parcel box available on my front porch. If applicable, a lock can be applied to the box to secure the contents inside until they are retrieved. If you are picking up and have requested the box to be locked, an unlock code will be provided to you.
-= Manufacturer's Warranty =-
DMRS Tech is not a licensed or an authorized service / repair center for any electronics manufacturer. If your electronic device is still under the manufacturer's warranty (usually within a year from purchase - please check with your manufacturer) having an external repair center such as DMRS Tech will VOID the manufacturer's warranty.
-= Repair work =-
After repairing an item, or if an item is non-repairable, DMRS Tech will outline the details of the repair attempt in detail as part of being completely transparent with the client. If the device has to be altered in order to repair it or attempt repair on it, the alterations will be communicated to the client in detail. DMRS Tech is not responsible for damage to the device outside of what the original issue that is noted below in the "Issue with electronic device" field after repairs have been completed.
-= Privacy =-
DMRS Tech respects client privacy. In the event of data manipulation (moving, copying, recovery, etc.) it may be possible that sensitive data files may be seen during the process. While DMRS Tech does will not open the files to see the internal content of them, the file names may still be seen. It is up to the client to remove any data / files that they require to remain private. Also, passwords to gain entry to the device or an account (smartphone, tablet, computer, iTunes, Google store, etc.) need to be submitted to DMRS Tech in order to troubleshoot or repair the item in question. It is recommended that if you have a sensitive password (such as a password you use on multiple accounts) to change the password during the time your electronic device is with DMRS Tech.
-= Fees =-
DMRS Tech charges a non-refundable diagnostics fee of $40.00. This fee covers the time and efforts into initially disassembling your electronic device and reviewing what it needs to be repaired. Upon successful diagnostics, an estimate for the repair will be given to you. At this point it is up to you to decide whether or not you'd like to continue with the repair. The minimum fee for any repair is $60.00. In certain circumstances, a deposit will need to be paid. When a deposit is needed, DMRS Tech will fully communicate with you as to the reason(s) why one is required. As the majority of deposits required are due to expensive proprietary parts, the deposit must be paid BEFORE the parts are ordered.
-= Refunds =-
The charges incurred from having repair work done at DMRS Tech are NON-REFUNDABLE. However, if re-work is needed on a previous repair within the warranty time frame (see warranty section), additional repairs will be made to the device to ensure it's working functionality. Deposits that were collected for parts (as mentioned above) are NON-REFUNDABLE. In the event a deposit was collected, the parts ordered and you no longer want to go through with the repair, the parts ordered will become sole property of DMRS Tech.
-= Warranty work =-
DMRS Tech provides a warranty for repaired devices thirty (30) days after the electronic device was discharged back to the client in working order. Warranty periods may be adjusted at the discretion of DMRS Tech as needed. Details will be given to the client when this adjustment is applied.
-= Repair turn-around time =-
By default, DMRS Tech is a drop off repair shop. There are many variables that dictate how long a repair will take such as; current repair queue size, parts availability, and awaiting parts being shipped. An approximate turn-around time for your repair will be communicated to you when it’s decided whether or not you want to proceed with the repair.
-= Non-payment & item abandonment =-
After fourteen (14) days of your invoice being sent to you and payment not being received, an invoice reminder will be sent to the e-mail address you have provided. After that notice has been sent, you have an addition five (5) days from the date that reminder was sent to you to respond. After those five days have lapsed and payment has not been received, or arrangements not made, the equipment noted at the time that you filled out the Repair Request Form below will become property of DMRS Tech and will be used as parts and / or recycled. Once equipment has been considered abandoned it is unrecoverable.

-= Donation of non-repairable device =-
At times the cost to repair a device doesn't warrant repair or, quite simply, it can't be repaired. If your device falls into these categories and you choose to no longer want the device, DMRS Tech will recycle the device for you. Useful parts from the device will be used when needed, and other parts that are no longer useful will be recycled at an electronics recycling facility. Required paperwork will be filled out by the client for the item in question at the time of donation.
